I mark a lot of sections with Status at the same time. Each time I have to scroll to the page end to click on the "Add Test Results" button. I suggest a shortcut designed for users with hundreds, if not thousands, of test cases in a test run:
1. Select all test cases in a section
2. Click on one of the selected test case's Status buttons
3. Select a Status
4. All selected test case Status are changed

I am trying to install TestRail and I can start the installation wizard but I can not move from step one. The "Checking installation files" is running, and finish after 15 minutes with message:
Error (details below), but I can not see any specific details why this error occurred.

In the Add Test Result screen, when selecting a step result to "Passed/Block/Retest/Custom/etc" it should also update the tests' "Overall Status" to reflect those choices.
I notice that the overall status will update to "Failed" if I fail a test step or of I press "Set all steps to Failed", but this update will only occur once.
The overall Status should always be updating to reflect the status of the Step Results.
If this is implemented, there should also be a way to customize the priority of the statuses. For example, I set "Blocked" to be more severe than "Failed", then say if one step fails, then the overall status is set to "Failed", but if then a following step is set to blocked, then the overall status is set to "Blocked" since the blocked status is a higher priority.
I have multiple suites & cases in a master test suite, is there a way when on the main list of test suites & cases to have the tree appear in the right hand window as it does when the individual test suite is opened? would be helpful at this level so I don't have to drill down into each test suite as there are currently 8K + test cases.

We are utilizing TestRail in a regulated environment. Since TestRail does not support this "out-of-box" we have had to implement some manual steps to achieve compliance. Part of this is running reports to display a customized "Requirement" field we have added. For each run I will build a report that displays Case ID, ID, Title, AGM Requirement (our custom field), Type, Version, Milestone. However, it is important for us to tie the plan back to the suite and run. Would it be possible to add some columns into the Plan Summary Report. It would be great if we could add the Run and Suite to this report to tie all information regarding the plan together.
On the 'test runs and results' screen, there is an icon to export tests and test results to format xml, xls, or csv.
In the xls and csv formats, there are columns for estimate and elapsed; is there a way to add an exported column for time remaining?

We are still new to test rail and have accidentally completed 2 test plans in a milestone that should not have been completed. Typically I would say we could just copy new ones and ignore them but they both have testing complete percentages of 80% which will be an issue for our auditing process.
Is there anyway in the DB or otherwise to correct this mistake?
I should add this is a local install not SaaS

I'm new to TestRail and i'm using evaluation instance (in case it might be the reason), but my problem is that when i'm trying to download the test run report as XLS, it just does not work and produces the same result as when i download it as CSV (the same file content, structure, name and content-type).
I'm
- Opening existing test run
- Export Run
- Export to Excel
-> getting file like test_run_xxxx.CSV
Could anyone advise how to fix it?
PS The same functionality also behaves incorrectly for "Test Case" export (also keep getting CSV instead of XLS).
We are in the middle of an active test release, and within our test runs, Test Rail seems to be randomly re-assigning all the scripts in the run to the first user alphabetically! If you look at the activity history, there is no indication that the script was re-assigned, however it shows up as assigned to this other tester...which makes me think that one of my testers did not do it (because re-assignments show up in the activity history), but that Test Rail might be doing something unexpected in the back-end.
Help! I've had to re-do assignments 3 times now because of this. Is this an issue you have seen before?
When we use testrail, it is inconvenience for no subtotals displaying on TAB "Test Cases".
Now we can use report function to get the subtotals of sections instead.
I have the custom fields for multiple test results on the same test do not populate correctly when generating a report (defect report). The report shows whatever was the latest entry.
For example:
Test result 1, Custom Field entry = "custom string 1", Defect = 0001
Test result 2, Custom Field entry = "custom string 2", Defect = 0002
now in the Defect report shows:
Defect ID Test Name Custom Field
0001 custom string 2
0002 custom string 2
Because the Test result 2 is the latest result, it is incorrectly populating the custom field for Defect 0001 in the report
Is there a way to show only specific projects on hide others on the dashboard?

I tried to add the system name in a css in a script but I do not think it is the correct way of doing it.(as it did not work obviously)

We are using TestRail within an Agile delivery framework, and we are structuring our Test Suites as such that the "Section" level refers to the Story, and then the test cases sit under the Story (Section). The challenge I have is I would like to pull a progress report off to show the status of the sprint at the Story (section) level rather than it showing me all the tests and their status. So for example if I have 3 test cases, 2 passed and one failed then the overall section would show as failed.
Is there a way to do this, or has anyone managed to customise their report to do this?

When I have a number of test Runs attached to a project e.g IST, UAT and Regression. Is there a way to set milestones for each of these test phases within the project.
Example:
Project Milestone: 1st April 2015
IST Milestone: 3rd March
UAT Milestone: 10th March
Regression Milestone: 1st April
each phase within the project can then be tracked independently against the overall project milestone.

Is there a way to set default Columns for everyone? Current I have set a view that would work best for my team, but would I need adjust (or ask everyone to adjust) the columns individually for every team member (existing or new)?
