Problem with c++ Builder 2010

Hello all!

I want to try to use SmartInspector for my projects.
I use C++ Builder 2010 and C++ Builder XE6
I've downloaded and installed the latest version SmartInspector.
SmartInspector was integrated into both IDE during installation.

As described in manual I've created empty project and added following lines into project's CPP file:
#include <SiAuto.hpp>
...
        Si->Enabled     = true;

But the linker failed with error "[ILINK32 Error] Fatal: Unable to open file 'DB.OBJ'"
Object file "DB.OBJ" isn't present in SmartInspect library folder.
C++ Builder XE6 has the same error.
How can I fix it?

API Request: get_results_for_case that doesn't require a Run

Would it be possible to get a get_results_for_case api call that doesn't require a run?

We'd like to be able to compare historical executions for an individual case, and right now there is no way to do that efficiently.

Basically I'd like the API equivalent of going to a Case in the UI, selecting "Test Results", then selecting "Results & Comments".

Alternatively, is there any way to determine what runs a single case has been included in?

Add Step Hotkey?

Hello,

Are there any hotkeys to add a new step to a test case (I am using the "structured test steps" configuration)?  I’ve searched the forums and have seen several requests for this functionality (some dating back to 2012) so am hoping that this is a feature that has made it into the release that I’m currently demoing...it would certainly make creating all of our tests much more bearable.  smile

[Defect Plugin] Assign data from Checkbox Fields

Hi,

I have a checkbox field in Rally, I am looking to use the defect plugin so that I can assign the value on defect push for this field and also retrieve the value from this field when viewing the defect.

I know the only types currently supported are string, text and dropdown. But do you know of any workaround for this. Thanks as always

Adding the comment to notification

When I assing testcases to a user, the user receives a notification email.
In this email there is currently the link to the test run and the project.

Is it somehow possible to display the comment that can be entered in the assignment dialog in this notification mail ?

Exporting Test Cases in XML- are not styled for html

Hi,  We are new to Testrail and have a need to export test cases so our clients can review them.  We do not want them directly in Testrail.

The xml export produces an non-styled data format.  Does anyone know of a good xml to html converter or have another solution?

Having the xml export produce reports that can display in a browser would be a great feature.

We end up exporting to excel, but that takes a lot of formatting and customization of the spreadsheet to get it 'user' readable.

Report with all unsolved defects

Hello!

I tested different options to report defects in TestRail. I would like to create a report which shows only the unsolved defects of a Testsuite summed up by the sections in the Testsuite and also just including the cases, which are not OK. In the Summary (Defects) Report for example there are always all defects and testcases.

Can you default the References field for a Test Suite/Section

I am attempting to relate Jira stories/requirements to test cases written.  I have set up the reference field to link the Reference field in TestRail to the Jira story.  What I was wondering is there a way to have the Reference field automatically populated to a specific story/requirement id while a user is creating a test suite or section?  Or will the test creator have to type in that id every time?:/

Has anyone gotten the "Push Defect" integration to work?

If so, could you please post the correct URL necessary? I keep getting 404s and I can't find any documentation on Jira's REST API URL for OnDemand.

TestRail - OnTime Plugin Push feature

I have integrated the OnTime plugin successfully  with my TestRail.
It pushes fine to open the window so you can input  the defect data

When selecting project- you  can see all the available projects however when selecting one it comes back with an error - non object

Also I can not select a workstep from the dropdown menu

I am using the Axosoft v14- is there any settings that are required for this to work properly?

View Only Testplans

Is there a way to view only Testplans?  It gets very confusing to see test runs mixed in with test plans  when I want to go to view only the plans and drill into the test runs

Moving/copying test cases between projects

It seems that there is no way to move/copy test cases between projects properly.

The API for get_case doesn't even respond with precondition or step information, let alone attachments.

I tried exporting the test cases in XML and re-importing to the new project.  While images embedded in the steps continued to work (as they were pointing to a global resource), the XML did not contain information about attachments.

Is this latter problem going to be looked at at some stage?

TestRail API - Failing result update for individual test steps

From my application, I am submitting the results for individual test steps to TestRail via the add_result_for_case API method. while submitting I am not getting any error response from the API but the testrail individual steps are not getting updated. This is how my JSON format.

Search within separated steps

As far as I can tell, it is not possible to search within custom separate steps.  Am I missing something here?  I setup the steps in my customization exactly as shown in  http://docs.gurock.com/testrail-faq/config-steps but whenever I search for text that exists within the steps, I cannot find the cases.

In truth, I mostly do not want to search within the steps, but every so often I would want to. 

In another post relating to bulk search/replace it was recommended to do the xml export, search/replace/ and re-import.  I'm looking into making a local cache of my steps to accomplish search/replace, but it would be helpful to be able to do a search of the steps from the web interface.

Where are imbedded images stored?

Hi,

Today we started having issues with a group of our UAT folks and other staff.  A bunch of us can not see imbedded images in TR (4.0.2.3269) with our own local installation with IE11, newest Firefox and Chrome.  It is no all cases however....

When I go the cases in Test Suites and Cases a lot of us get the broken link icon.  If we click in it it just churns with an icon.  In one cases 1 imbedded image is seen but the others are broken.

How are the imbedded images stored and if they are converted to files - where are those files stored?

EDIT:  Found them in the Attachments table.  I see there is a reference to Case_id and Project_id.  The problem seemed to center around cases that were copied to another project.  We eventually got them back - even though I did it I am not sure how we fixed it.  Will find out the details and post them.

EDIT 2:  From the Dashboard:

1.    Select BKS-QA (original test suite)
2.    Click on the tab ‘Test Suites & Cases’
3.    Select BKS
4.    Open a case with an Image (Add Note has an image)
5.    Select Edit
6.    Don’t change anything, Cancel

Now go to back to your Dashboard and select BKS-UAT (this is a copy of the BKS - QA suite) and go to Test Runs & Results and open your test run. You should now be able to see your images.
